Description
To raise funds for projects to provide clean drinking water, sanitation, routine dental, medical, vision care, education and leadership development to the communities of Carissade and Fowozoli, Haiti, by partnering with the Church of Christ in those communities.
So far we have built a latrine; built a small school/church; provided educational materials for the school children and teachers; started a lending library with Children’s books in Haitian Creole; given 100 chickens (one to each family) at Christmas; hired workers to build 30 church benches; provided medical and vision care to 50 children; repaired a broken well; bought Bibles and songbooks for two churches; gave out 20 goats to people who memorized the entire book of James in the Bible in one month; started a school lunch program so the children can receive one nutritious meal per school day; paid for glasses for five children who had 20/100 and 20/200 vision; bought one pair of shoes and socks for each child; and provided daily multivitamins. We are in the process of teaching feminine hygiene to teenage girls and women and providing feminine hygiene packs for each girl/woman who attends the class. We want to expand our programs, but we are very small and rely on donations. No administrative costs are taken out of donations, and we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, so gifts are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
